For thousands of years puppets have been used in cultures all over the world to represent our humanity, providing a more profound understanding and connection to our own humanity. My inspiration for art & design usually comes from historical tradition of permanence and artisanship in the craft - additionally though, the more modern application of Film provides a relevant media for my love of lost Arts.
There is a need to create a cathartic solace in our Art, and for me, stop-motion film represents a collision of modern media with those discoverable lost Arts. Film (though ephemeral in essence) imparts an outlet for imagination like no other I know. There is something ethereal about endowing objects with an otherworldliness through design, craft & myth.
