Based on a Czechoslovakian folktale, Læfan brings to life the story of a young girl’s coming of age in a mysterious and magical world. Within the small cottage Læfan learns from her herbalist mother about the enchanted birch grove discovered deep in the neighboring forest. We then follow the girl through three days of mundane tasks turned fantastic by her interactions with the beautiful and timeless woman of the birch wood.
